Oh Christian Dior…what a lovely home

Oh Christian Dior (1905-1957). Morrissey was wrong*. You didn’t waste your life on aroma and clothes and grandeur and style. I think if I had grown up in this home, I might have spent my life ‘sensually stroking the weaves of a sleeve’ (Morrissey does have a great way with words doesn’t he? And if you listen to his lyrics, *he is actually saluting Dior, artist to artist…it’s a beautiful tribute if you listen properly). I digress…

A visit to Dior’s childhood home in the French seaside town of Granville, really shows that where you are from has a big impact on who you become. How could anyone live in a pink house like this, with views of the sea, surrounded in lush gardens and not do something with beauty? Fashion isn’t for everyone, but an appreciation of beauty really should be. I hope our pink fridge provides the same inspiration to little G…
