I’ll admit I’ve been a little obsessed with skies recently (and it looks set to continue). It’s in my genes as my father is a pilot (mainly gliders…for he does like a little soaring with the birds…who doesn’t?). So I’ve been brought up by a family whose instinct has been to ‘look up’ and see what’s going on above our heads…not keep eyes down to the floor.
In the past week, to overcome any January blues that dared visit our abode, I’ve looked to the skies when I’ve woken and wow, there have been some seriously breathtaking views. Some morning sunrises have been so stunning that I’ve even had to wake the family up (I probably woke the whole road as well with the pink one that felt like a whole new planet was passing by us). So next time you’re feeling a bit blue, look up…it might just take your breath away.
Where: Right outside your home, outside your window…look up. Or go gliding…try Southdown Gliding Club and have a trial lesson (available April to October).
