Every once in a while, a golden ticket arrives giving you the opportunity to go somewhere really special. In this case it was a big family celebration lunch in London where the family were gathered to drink champagne and celebrate happy news.
Apparently Pollen Street Social is the hot ticket in town (London that is). It describes itself as ‘a contemporary bistro offering deformalised fine dining’. We got to enjoy it via the private dining room which is bliss when there are two toddlers in tow. From the private room we could see into the kitchen and play with our toys (the toddlers that is). We were well tended to by our own waiting staff who went out of their way to accommodate with specially prepared food for the little ones and they didn’t even blink when navigating the toy obstacle course around the table.
We were also delighted by the chef’s compliments of amuse-bouches (don’t you just adore that word?) throughout the meal…my absolute favourite being the mushroom cappuccino…if you like mushroom then this is a cup of heaven. Each course was well thought out and beautifully presented. We left feeling thoroughly full and throughly spoilt – it was a five star treat.
