Ah my ‘week that was captured’ is all about the weekend…and a very large Friday of mucho laughter and tears. I escaped work early to head up to London for a ‘farewell’ knees up with my fabulous friend who is leaving the world of PR to train to become a yoga teacher (and heading off shortly to Thailand for nearly 3 months).
In equal measures she’s beyond excited and terrified. But as we chewed the fat (and drank many a glass of Aperol Spritz…oh hello!) we agreed that change was a very good thing indeed. We headed to the W Hotel in Leicester Square for drinks and people watching (I’m still intrigued by what people wear out for the night), then over to Burger and Lobster in Mayfair, which was one of the best meals ever. Exactly as it says on the tin…they serve burgers and lobster. We decided that we would share, so one of us would have the burger and the other, the lobster…but what do you know…they served it beautifully half and half. We sat at the bar, chatted to the amazing staff and did a spot of celeb watching. An utterly perfect Friday night.
We stayed over and staggered back to Brighton on Saturday…said our ‘au revoirs’ (’till next time) and I rushed to meet my husband and Little G coming to meet me after a birthday party. We then had a wonderful family day and enjoyed the street market in the North Laine…where we found a second hand copy of the ‘Adventures of Lowly Worm’ by Richard Scarry (one of our favs!) and Little G was given a little dinosaur by a very kind lady after Little G scrambled under her stall to help her pick up various toys that had fallen off and underneath. There’s nothing like a bit of thanks and friendliness to make you feel warm inside. And yesterday? Painting all day…just don’t touch anything! I hope your week was a warm fuzzy one too.
