The week that was captured…#21 (a week of ‘firsts’)

Dymchurch

Still hanging with a cold, I think as rather than going to bed I’ve embraced the whirlwind which is why it’s still here. It was a week of ‘firsts’… Little G started ‘pre-school’ and had her first ballet lesson. I promise a quieter week now.

We started the week with our six monthly eye test for Little G on Monday (where she gets to play with very cool retro toys in the waiting room) and then decided that as my clients were all off, we should visit Auntie Phylie down in Hythe (Kent) on Wednesday and Thursday. This is the place of my childhood holidays…so a trip on the ‘little railway’ aka the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, was a real ointment for feeling under par. The smell of the steam trains was gorgeous…and the journey to Dymchurch for the little funfair and beach was very nostalgic (more on that day to follow). Oh and on Thursday I finally said ‘farewell’ to my Bikram Yogi friend who flew by our house for one last hug on the way to the airport (good-luck birdie!).

Friday I seemed to run from meeting to meeting…seeing friends for lunch, seeing clients and managing to pop in and see my friend and her husband’s new gallery ‘35 North‘…do pop in if you are in the Laines as there are some fabulous paintings by John Whiting showing beautiful aspects of the city.

Saturday was Little G’s first ballet lesson…she was up and ready to go in no time (when on a normal day it takes ages to get ready!). It was über cute and she was with her nursery friend so it made dancing with the big girls (it’s age 3-5) a little less daunting. We then had the most amazing ‘under the sea adventure’ party in the afternoon. The very clever parents had gone to town on creativity and we danced, ate and drank well. The sun shone so it was pretty special (and the party bag was a beach bucket filled with goodies – so cool!). On Sunday I finally crashed and spent most of the day in bed and my wonderful husband entertained…and took Little G to the park for 2 hours…that bucket came in very handy so I hear!
